Carrier Ethernet World Congress 2009 Day 4: Evolution of Carrier Ethernet Technology
By David Noguer Bau, Head of Carrier Ethernet, Juniper Networks
As with all good things, the CE World Congress comes to an end today. The main part of the agenda was the MEF 21 Award Ceremony, which took place this morning. Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) is responsible for setting up test specifications for several standards and certifies them. More information about this process can be found here.
Juniper's MX Series, M Series and T Series were certified today. Juniper also received the MEF Award. We're proud that Juniper is among the first group of awardees and feel it shows our commitment to a simplified version of this technology across the portfolio.
As with many shows that are winding down, there were only a few sessions today. Nonetheless, the ones that took place were no less interesting than those of the past two days. The topic of today's session was Carrier Ethernet as a residential service in the broadband network. It was very interesting and the audience applauded it for offering compelling and detailed information.
We had a lot of enthralling sessions and keynotes, plus a lot of successful meetings with vendors and customers. Looking forward to next year's congress where we hope to reconnect with old friends and meeting new people! Until next year....
