Angry EX (STP?)

I'm back...

We have three EX4500's in the following configuration:

EX4500#1---------EX4500#2--------EX4500#3

                                    |

                                    |

                                MX80 (router)

We are observing xe-0/0/16 on the EX#2 facing the EX#1 site having its port blocked and unblocked over and over(see log below).   I'd prefer to disable STP, rSTP, lldp and lldp-med, but if I do we see blocking as well...  We are only using point to poing VLANs and there is no physical possibility of a L2 loop.

Any ideas as to how to stabilize (or eliminate) our STP, rSTP, lldp, lldp-med environment?

Thanks in Advance!

CB.

Re: Angry EX (STP?)

Hello, You may have a bad port. We have experienced several EX 4500's with the same symptoms that had a defective port. We would oberve the same log messages and see link flaps, carrier transitions, etc.

Good luck

Re: Angry EX (STP?)

Whilst I though we had awoken the Spanning-tree Gods, we were simply victim to a failed XFP upstream from EX4500#1 below. Observed frame errors inbound to the EX4500#1. When the link would fail, this msg would be found in the logs of EX4500#2.  I will move the SFP+ to another physical port just to be safe.

Exhale!

Thx for the help!
