  • 1.  Build a virtual chassis with 2 active switches

    Hi, 

     

    I have a standalone 4200 and a standalone 4500 with each their own active config. If I want to create a virtual chassis by interconnecting the VCP interfaces, what will happen to the configs? Will they be merged to one config? Or will the config of the switch that is elected as master become active and that of the backup will erased?

    Sven, The master switch configuration will override the configuration of the other switch(s)

    One more thing to remember is that the you have to configure the interfaces for any new switch added to a either a single switch or a virtual chassis as it will not have any configuration for the new switch(s)
