Hi. We're looking into using EX series (2200 or 3200) to switch customer LANs and terminate fiber connections, and I was wondering if either switch includes support for virtual-router routing instances.

A common scenario is that a customer has a private LAN and a guest LAN that should be topologically separate, and virtual-router routing instances would be the easy way to implement this. It's unfeasible to deploy a stupendously expensive MX device at each LAN edge, but I'm hoping that the Juniper offering includes a solution. Thanks.

    Hi,

Yes the EX3200 supports virtual-routers today. The EX2200 does not.

    Hint: set routing-instances <instance-name> instance-type virtual-router
