  • 1.  EX2200 syslog errors

    Posted 11-11-2014 23:00

    Hello,

I have the following syslog with severity errors from some of our switches like this:

    fpc0 Invalid pfe_re_type

pfem: devrt_ifd getting linkstate failed for dev 1 port 0

And they are repeating many times.

    1- what are these errors?

2- how can we solve their cause?

    Thanks in advance

    You are hitting this PR:

    https://prsearch.juniper.net/InfoCenter/index?page=prcontent&id=PR988063

There will be service impact only if COS configuration involving VCP and network ports will be present. If the COS is affecting only one of them or you don't have COS at all, then there is no possibility for service impact.

    Thank you.

I have ver. 12.3R6.6 and i will upgrade to ver. 12.3R9 in order to solve it.

but i didn't understand the terms COS configuration and the VCP.

And by the way, i don't see the ver. 12.3R9 at the download page:

    https://www.juniper.net/support/downloads/?p=ex2200#sw

    Thanks again

12.3R9 is not yet available. Should be available in the second half of December.

COS is class of service(QOS as others might call it). VCP are the virtual-chassis ports used to link together FPCs in a virtual-chassis. If you don't have EX2200 in VC, then you don't have to worry at all about this.
