    Hi all,

I have some EX3200 switches, and snapshotting to USB does not appear to be supported :

    > request system snapshot

error: command is not valid on the ex3200-24t

    > show system snapshot

error: this is a hard disk only configuration, snapshot not supported

Annoyingly, articles such as this one claim all EX-series switches support snaphotting to USB:

    http://www.juniper.net/techpubs/en_US/junos11.1/topics/concept/ex-series-system-snapshot-boot-directory.html

So, what is the best way to create a snapshot-like backup on the 3200?

I think the command you are using is trying to create a snapshot on a secondary internal flash, which doesn't exist in your case.

Have you tried 'request system snapshot media external partition'?

'request system snapshot' does not exist at all; it does not even autocomplete.

    syntax error.

On a J-series I would do 'request system snapshot media usb' but no luck. And nothign in the docs about this that I can find.

In case it's relevant, the switches are running JUNOS 9.6R1.13

Think I've figured it out.. . according to a few KB articles such as the one below, snapshots were introduced in 10.0 in the EX-series. Time for an upgrade...
