    Hi Guys,

    I have a question regarding the PoE-Ports of the EX-Switches (mainly EX3300)

When the Switch comes up, do all the Ports get PoE at once or are they powered on "one after another"?

This is important for us to calculate load-peaks.

    Regards

    Chris

    Hello,

You can check 'PoE configurable options'  in the link below:

    http://www.juniper.net/documentation/en_US/junos14.1/topics/task/configuration/poe-cli.html

And also the link below to understand LLDP Power negotiation.

    Regards,

    Hi Rushi,

I checked that - however it only mentioned the "reservation" or "prio" or "maximum power" - it does not state if the Switch poweres the ports on "one after another" or "all at once".

Question is if i can tell the Switch "When powered on, power one port after another every x Minutes".

    Regards

    Chris

    Hello Chris,

Here is the detailed explanation about power allocation on EX switches on line cards with PoE switches.

    http://www.juniper.net/documentation/en_US/junos15.1/topics/concept/power-management-ex-series.html#jd0e148

Check 'Line Card Priority & PoE power' specifically.

It looks like the power allocation is per line card & not per port.

    Regards,

    Rushi
