  • 1.  EX4200-48P No space left on device

    Posted 03-12-2013 14:27

    All,

I just  loaded the JLoader-ex-3243...package with no issues on a EX-4200-48P currently running 10.0R4.7 then upgraded code to 11.4R5.7.

Now, on my second 4200-48P, when attempting to load the JLoader, I get no space left on the device.

I attempted to run request system storage cleanup with no results.

I have factory defaulted the 4200 with the same space issues.

I am not sure why /dev/da0s1a is over capacity.

If anyone has an idea how to get rid of the space error, I would appreciate it.

Below is what the error displays and what the storage on the device looks like after running the cleanup:

    root@:RE:0% cp /var/tmp/usb/jloader-ex-3242-11.3I20110326_0802_hmerge-signed.tgz /var/tmp

My guess is that at some point a file was copied to the switch without specifying /var/tmp as the destination directory.  If so, the file was put into the user's home directory.  To check, from the shell do "du -hs /var/home/*".  That will give you how much space is used in each user's home directory.  Also, if you have been using root for most operations, go into the cli as root and do "file list detail" to see what is in root's home directory.

If you have your configs already backed up then try zeorize

    request system zeroize
