  • 1.  EX4200-48p & EX4200-48px Virtual Chassis

    I need to add a new member to a stack for EX4200-48p's.  The only available switch to add to the VC is an EX4200-48px.  Is it okay to add a 48px to a VC of 48p's?

     

    Just checking before I blow something up.

    Just remember you'll need to be running at least 11.2R1 on everything in the VC.

    Yeah. Step one in this process is uprading the existing members from 10.4R something to whatever the recommended release is.

    Oh yeah.
    Can I change the virutal chassis auto software update config before actually installing the code on the member switches?

    Just wondering. I've already copied the code to the /var/tmp directory.

    If memory serves me the auto upgrade is only for new member chassis switches, and frankly I would upgrade the new switch manually before joining it to the chassis. The 10x code was not the greatest and I never really trusted it. IMHO -YMMV
