I want to factory default a EX4200 by cli through console port, but it comes out with below error and saying my login locked the database??

    {master:0}

    > configure exclusive

warning: uncommitted changes will be discarded on exit

    Entering configuration mode

    {master:0}[edit]

    # load factory-default

    warning: activating factory configuration

    error: configuration database locked by:

abc terminal u0 (pid 948) on since 2012-05-22 10:01:38 HKT

          exclusive {master:0}[edit]

    warning: activating factory configuration

    error: configuration database locked by:

abc terminal u0 (pid 948) on since 2012-05-22 10:01:38 HKT

          exclusive {master:0}[edit]

    error: No factory configuration available

I know that is a command "delete system commit factory-settings" mentioned in juniper KB11159.

But I can't find the command in my switches? Is there somethings special need to be cared?

    {master:0}[edit]

    # delete system commit ?

    Possible completions:

      <[Enter]>            Execute this command

+ apply-groups         Groups from which to inherit configuration data

+ apply-groups-except  Don't inherit configuration data from these groups

synchronize          Synchronize commit on both Routing Engines by default

      |                    Pipe through a command

    Thanks!

If you don't mind the logs, etc. being deleted, my preferred method to reset is to run

    request system zeroize

Which will restore the box to a truly defaulted state (otherwise you have to speficy a password or it will not let you commit), and will delete any user files, logs, etc.

Have fix the problem with JTAC, we can't execute the command with "configure exclusive" as it will lock the database 🙂
