Junos backup from switch

Hi,

How to backup  Junos/Configuration from switch.    Just need commands.

I have downloaded configuration through Web but i need through CLI.

In case i am not able to access switch through web so it is necessary to upload config file through CLI mode.

I know the feature rollback.  But i need to know about how to backup config.

Re: Junos backup from switch

You can use an FTP or SCP server. To save a config use in edit mode

save ftp://user:smileytongue:asswd@host/filename

to restore

load replace ftp://user:smileytongue:asswd@host/filename

Screenie.

Re: Junos backup from switch

Unfortunately tftp isn't supported.  And the ftp syntax is screwed by a smiley....

Re: Junos backup from switch

Screenie, you could drop the syntax commands into a "code" block, and the smileys won't take over.  :smileyhappy:

Stealing from your post and regurgitating it here for readability, to save the config the syntax is:

save ftp://user:passwd@host/filename

To restore from a saved config:

load replace ftp://user:passwd@host/filename
-kr

If this solves your problem, please mark this post as "Accepted Solution."
Kudos are always appreciated.
