Trying to connect our COLO with our DSO location.

We have connectivity from our Corporate site to our COLO site, both directions work great.

I am unable to ping the DSO from the COLO. Any reason why.?

    Below are the interface setups;

    CORPORATE to COLO

    ge-1/0/39

    access

    vlan-id 9

    layer-3 vlan.10

    gateway ip: 10.11.9.254/24

    COLO  to CORPORATE

    ge-0/0/9

    access

    vlan-id 9

    layer-3 vlan.2

    gateway ip: 10.20.9.254/24

    COLO to DSO

    ge-0/0/33

    access

    vlan-id 9

    layer-3 vlan.2

    gateway ip: 10.20.9.254/24

    DSO

    ge-2/0/0

    access

    vlan-id 9

    layer-3 vlan.10

    gateway ip: 10.10.9.254/24

Showing LLDP Neighbors, from either COLO or DSO shows the switch on the opposite end.

    {master:0}
    admin@COLOSW01> show lldp neighbors

    Routes on COLO

    set routing-options static route 0.0.0.0/0 next-hop 10.20.9.252
    set routing-options static route 10.10.0.0/16 next-hop 10.20.9.252

It is possible the route to 10.10.0.0/16 is the problem, as that is going to our Level-3 MPLS cloud.

    Routes on DSO

    NONE

Yes, I would agree that the route 10.10/16 going through the MPLS is probably a problem - unless you want the traffic to go COLO -> Corporate -> DSO.  But more important, you say DSO has no routes - how does traffic from DSO get anywhere?  It seems like COLO-to-DSO link needs it's own address assignment (like a /30 or /31), and then route that traffic to it.

I will be going back tomorrow, will try to temporarily disable the 10.10.0.0, as that is our production route from colo.

It will eventually be at the DSO site for production, but I needed to test.

    I will chime in tomorrow.

    Thanks

    louis,

Seems it was a static route in the colo switch.

    Thanks, it is working now.
