  • 1.  Logging messages in log files EX2200 & EX4200

    Posted 10-16-2012 05:24

    Hello,

Where you can view / download the description of messages that are written to the log files?
    Preferably more detailed.

    Such as messages from chassism:
Oct 16 16:02:16 xx.xx.xx.xx chassism [1011]: IFCM: no handler for command subtype 238

    Thx.

You can see all of logs in /var/log/ directory. You can use ftp/scp, web management for accessing logs.

No, I need a description of messages, rather than where they are stored.

You can use the command "help syslog" followed by the message code and many of the message codes have the explaination right on the box - IE -

    Jul 27 10:48:37 host mgd [4350]: UI_DBASE_LOGOUT_EVENT: ....

    user@host> help syslog UI_DBASE_LOGOUT_EVENT

This will return a description for you.

This isn't working for me. I'm searching for the same error.
