Can the qfx3500 support 100mb connections?

No, the QFX3500 only supports 10Gb and 40Gb interfaces.  Also, as of the moment, the 40Gb interfaces are only usable as QFabric uplinks, or as 4 x 10Gb (via breakout cable) interfaces, not as native 40Gb Ethernet.

Thanks, follow up--data sheet specifies 1gbe connects, how does that fit to your reply?

The 10Gb interfaces are actually multi-media in that some of them can be 1Gbps (via SFP), and some of them can also be fiber-channel.
