  • 1.  STP and Virtual Chassis on EX-8208 and EX-4200

    Hi all,

I have one question. I have one VC with two EX-8208 and other VC with two EX-4200, so I need to connect them with two trunk links, one link from VC-01-SW01 to VC-02-SW01 and other link from VC-01-SW02 to VC-02-SW02, so over this topology, I need configuring STP.? It's necessary.? I believe that yes, but I don't sure.

    Thanks.

It does sound like you'll need some form of STP.  You have two virtual switches connected to each other with two links (I am assuming the links are layer 2 links as you call them trunks, and that both links are configured similarly with VLANs an such).   You'll have a layer 2 loop with those 2 links that will need to be mitigated in some way, STP would be a way to do it.

Or you can aggregate the links, in which case you will get: no need for STP, double the bandwidth, redundancy.
