  • 1.  Set VLAN problem

    Hello, Who can tell me difference between

     

    "set vlans v1 interface ge-0/0/0.0"

    and

    "set interface ge-0/0/0 unit 0 family ethernet-switching vlan members v1"

    They are the same things. You either assign the interfaces to the VLAN or you assign which VLANs are allowed on the interface.

    People with Cisco background find the second approach familiar.

    You can use whatever you want, but I strongly advise you to be consistent with your approach.

    I've seen lots of places that use method 1 for access ports so they are all listed in one place per vlan.  

     

    and then method 2 on trunk ports so that all the vlans on the trunk are easy to see in one location.
