  • 1.  Using two reth interfaces for active/passive bond

    I have two j6350 routers in ha cluster. Can I use two reth interfaces and create active/passive interface bond.

    Yes, you can create two reth interface and have active/passive cluster.

    Hi Ranko,

     

    Another thing to remember:

     

    1. You can have both reth interfaces under same redundancy group.

    2. If you would like to have each of the reth interfaces in a different redundany group, then you should make sure primacy of all redundancy group in same node.

    Thank you for your quick reply. 

    I am familiar with redundancy groups, however I would like 2-interface bond in active/passive.

    For example reth0 is active and running as 192.168.0.1. If reth0 is disconnected then reh1 becomes 192.168.0.1

    You cannot have two different interfaces with same ip-address in same subnet.

    Instead of creating two reth interfaces, you could add two ports from each nodes and have one reth interface(totally four ports in a reth, two from each of the nodes).
