Switching

Hello ,

I am trying to configure VC with 2 EX 4600 and 4300 as mix VC , cabling connection is done ,but for some reason it does not form VC , if I check 4600-1  (master) it just show that as VC and wont show others

* All the devices are running on same OS

* Connection is proper

show virtual chassis

member  ID  status  serial model Mstr Role Mixed mode Route mode 

0        (FPC 0) Prsnt TCnchlsj     ex-4600-40f   Master Y VC

However When I issue show chassis vc port it show 

PIC 

2/0  configured Absent

2/1 configured Absent

0/1 Configured Absent

0/0 configured Absent

I got the answer from the TAC

By default 4600 does not have the VPC configured, below command needs to be applied for it to become VCP

> request chassis vc-port set pic-slot 0 port 24 local     , I used port 24 and 25 in the 4600 to form VC in multimode with 4300.

should be helpful for someone who plans to multimode, as i dont see the above command anywhere in documentation or in Internet.

I too refered the same document , but it does not say the word local, if you use the below commands it will take it , but will show interface vpc as absent  . I verified the same with TAC and they said the same.  

user@switch> request virtual-chassis vc-port set pic-slot pic-slot-number port port-number

Did you put in for a doc correction?

How do I  do that , please guide if you have idea
