    Hi

I know that virtual routing instances can be configured on the EX's

    http://www.juniper.net/techpubs/en_US/junos9.6/topics/example/bridging-vrf-ex-series.html

However I would like to do this at layer2, i.e. have 1 trunk and access port configured as an independent 'switch' thereby not affecting or intruding on the existing native L2 environment; is this possible at all?

    Regards

    Mark,

The EX does not have any virtual switch instances at this moment in time. However, VLAN's are in many ways not instrusive to each other be definition. What is it you need to accomplish? Re-use VIDs? Separate STP? Administrative domains?

    Hi

In this case, we need a cheap solution to be able to connect a seperate trunk port to an access port to remove a vlan tag.  However as its part of a multi-tenanted solution we don't want to risk and misconfig thereby potentially interupting current trunk and access vlans on the switch

This is essentially what I'd like to do

    Hi,

This has been discussed for the EX but no firm plans have been set yet.
