  • 1.  alarms on ex2200

    i have a few ex2200 where the red alarm light is illuminated.  i read that it can appear if the management link is not plugged in. i issued the following command:

     

    set chassis alarm management-ethernet link-down ignore.

     

    i commited the changes and the alarm light changed from red to amber. however if i run a:

     

    show chassis alarms command "No alarms currently acitve" on the switch.

     

    not sure how to locate what is causing the amber light and how to resolve the issue.

     

    any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Set the rescue config

    Request system configuration rescue save

    From operational mode

    You can also use "show system alarms" to see what it is complaining about if nothing shows up in "show chassis alarms".

    HI Guys!

    perfect solution.

    I will just like to add: 

    In a virtual chassis scenario, make sure you login to affected member and run the commands from their operational mode.
