filter prefix mac-address on EX4200

Hello all

I need to filter a long list of mac-address (especially from same vendor) with same prefix (3 or 4 first bytes).

the command set ether secure interface ge-x/x/x allowed-mac <MAC> is available only for a mac (8 bytes).

How can I do then instead od entering all mac-address ?

Thanks for any solution

Re: filter prefix mac-address on EX4200

hi dear...

1... As far as i know, u will be required to enter all your mac entries one by one. there is no shortcult to use some sort of comon starting mac and applicable to all..

2.... However, i think , things can be less tedious for you if u apply a firewall filter on with a term allowing only-specific-macs using  condition from source-mac-address (here you can enter list of all macs u want to allow)... this way you will not have to worry for your macs per port/interface as clients may change their ports, rather relatively in simpler way you can apply a mac filter on your switch...

i hope it to help you.......
