With EX series, it was possible to do layer 1 troubleshooting by using "lcdd 0 chassism" and then look for information on the actual ifd.

    Example:

    chassism<0>#show ifd ge-0/0/1

    Port information:

    Name:                                ge-0/0/1

    Index:                               177

    Logical Port:                         1

    Physical Port:                       1

    IFD State:                           Network

    Port Type:                           1000Base-SX SFP

    Link status:                         Down

    Global device ID:                     0

    Local device ID:                     0

    IFD Flag:                             0x8001

    Device Started Flag:                 1

    Port media information:

    Speed:                                1Gbps

    Duplex:                               Full

    Media MTU:                           1514

    Port Media Speed:                     1000000000

    Autoneg Status:                       Pending

    Autoneg complete:                     0

    Local link speed:                     1000000000

    Local link status:                   2

    Link partner anerror:                 1

    Link partner speed:                   1000000000

    Link partner status:                 1

    ...

When trying the same on QFX5100, I get

    root@QFX5100-48S-6Q:RE:0% lcdd 0 chassism
    Telnet escape character is '^D'.
    Trying 128.0.0.16...
telnet: connect to address 128.0.0.16: Connection refused
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host
    root@QFX5100-48S-6Q:RE:0%

    Question:

Is there a similar troubleshooting mechanism as on EX on the QFX series?

    Thanks in advance,

    Stefan

    chassism doesn't exist on QFX5100.

There are few commands that can provide similar output, but they are restricted for JTAC troubleshooting use only.
