Hi.
I have the same problem but with an M7i router. Is the AUX/Modem port on that family router not active as in J-serier router?
Thank you

I need to connect an analog modem (US-Robotics) to M7i AUX port.

Thank you.

not so much to do really on the M7i ..
# show system
ports {
auxiliary type vt100;
}
It's the modem that can get interesting .. with at command set, turn off echo, set answer after 0 rings, that sort of thing

If I wanted to use the AUX port on the M7i to console into another device, is that possible and if so, how would I do it? I see that you've posted instructions on setting the AUX port to use terminal type vt100, but how do I initiate a console connection out of this port?
Thanks in advance,
-Jonathan

Hi Jonathan
Unfortunately, It is not possible to do reverse telnet to the Aux port as you can simply do on the Aux port of a C router.
I would have like that it could be possible (like you) !

I am new to Juniper forum and new to Juniper devices. We have a M7i router that we are trying to have a modem for dial in access for out of band management. We use these modems to dial into the router if we are troubleshooting wan or power related issues a site may be having. On the M7i we currently have auxiliary type vt100 configured. When testing the modem answers and makes a connection but we are never presented a login prompt. I have not been successfully at finding any help files regarding this issue. Thanks for any help.
