  • 1.  2200-C boots from backup partition

    Posted 05-04-2017 05:18

    Experts,

Due to power lost, 2200-C has been rebooted from backup partition, is there any way to fix this to start from primary partition?

    Message:

WARNING: THIS DEVICE HAS BOOTED FROM THE BACKUP JUNOS IMAGE

    Steps:

request system snapshot media internal slice alternate
request system reboot slice alternate media internal

These did not work. Switch reboots from backup partition anyway Smiley Sad

    Hi,

Try to do only the first command:
request system snapshot media internal slice alternate

and then reboot : request system reboot .

request system snapshot media internal slice alternate
    fpc0:
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Formatting alternate root (/dev/da0s2a)...
Copying '/dev/da0s1a' to '/dev/da0s2a' .. (this may take a few minutes)
The following filesystems were archived: /

     show system storage partitions

    Active Partition: da0s2a
    Backup Partition: da0s1a

      s3e 123M /var
      s4d 62M /config

I think this did a trick. However my Juno os version is old [12.3R6.6] ..... I will try to upgrade to  12.3R12.4
