  • 1.  J2320 with 256mb RAM, junos 10.1

    I installed a 1gb CF card in my j2320 and have installed the 10.1R2.8 software on my lab router.   Currently on power up it boots to the internal CF, on version 9 something.   I can do a "request system reboot media removable-compact-flash" and it will boot up just fine on the CF.

    How can I force it to boot up to the external CF every time?  There is not enough internal memory to take version 10.

    I can't recall, but is the internal CF removable?  If it is, just swap them and you should be ready to roll.

    Actually, I was just getting to that point.  I'm about to open up the router and check...

    Yep, that did it.  Took out 1 million screws, and swapped the CF.  Cool.

    I don't believe so.  There is no sticker to indicate that, and Juniper sells a 2320 > SSG320 conversion kit that requires this very thing.
