  • 1.  Not able to access J-Web

    Hi I found out that one of my Juniper switch's web interface anymore. The model is ex3200-48t running 10.4R9.2.

    I'm able to ping and telnet to it.

    I tried to run restart web-manage also received this error message.

    error: Web management gatekeeper process is not running

    error: Web management gatekeeper process was not restarted.

    Can someone advise me?

    Could you try to delete web-management (delete system services web-management http) after the commit. Try to re enable it ? (set system services web-management http )

    Hi,

     

    I tried to delete the service and enable again.

    But it's still not working.

    I tried to run restart web-management to test also still showing the same error.

    Try running the JTAC Recommended release : 12.3R3.4.  Maybe a reboot will fix it.

    I tried to download release 12.3R3.4 but not able to downloade since I do not have active support contract with Juniper.

    Is there any other way to solve it?

    I am not sure, to tell you the truth. Can you reinstall the the version you have, but add the  "force" switch also. Not sure what happened, it seems like a corruption of the software. Unfortunately I cannot help with downloading the J-Web software and installing it. In the meantime, you can use the learning bytes and the helpful kb articles to start getting familiar and using the cli.

    So there is no other solution other than reinstalling?

    This is one of the critical switch and not easy to arrange the dowtime.

    So if possible i would like to avoid reinstalling.

    I did try to run

    request system core-dump web-management

    and the output is

    rpdc: httpd-gk is not running.

    Has anyone figured this out ? I have the exact same problem on a virtual chassis composed of 2 EX4200 running 11.4R1.6.

     

    No matter what I do, web-services doesn't start. no https.log is ever created. All I get is :

     

    restart web-management
    error: Web management gatekeeper process is not running
    error: Web management gatekeeper process was not restarted

    Did you have cluster ? 

     

    Connect to youre primary node and go in cli mode. 

     

    restart web-mangement 

     

    in the secondary node the système return you 

     

    restart web-management
    error: Web management gatekeeper process is not running
    error: Web management gatekeeper process was not restarted

     

    It normal. 

     

    You have to do in the primary node.
