Hi guys. I'm not sure if anyone is getting this same issue via J-Web.

I tried upgrading 2 separate routers via IE

    -Scenario (All Mixed and Matched)

    -1 Router Running 9.2

    -1 Router Running 9.3

    -Tried 1 XO Cat5E

    -Tried 1 ST Cat5E

-Tried 1 Laptop Running IE 6.0

-Tried 1 Laptop Running IE 8.0

Either way, uploading the package via the Maintain->Software->Upload->Browse method seems to fail out.

On 9.2 or 9.4 Machine, It starts uploading..at around 40% of the way through, it fails out and stops. Waiting another 10 minutws gives an internet explorer error.

I can upgrade it via SSH, but I would like to make a writeup for the J-Web method as well.

Can anyone help me out? It's an EX3200.

    Further Solution:

If your EX3200 is currently running version 9.4R2.9 your upgrade path should be a 2 step as follows:

    9.4R2.9 -> 10.0R1.8 -> 10.3R1.9 -> (+Higher)

BTW, just wanted to add this as well.

When I go to the file management to check if there are any massive files cloging up the storage space, there aren't, it's like the package is not even registering.

I'm not sure if this is related to your symptoms, but please be sure to read the release notes. For example:

Upgrade Policy for Junos OS Extended End Of Life Releases
A direct upgrade and downgrade path is now available for Junos OS Extended End of
Life (EEOL) releases. You can upgrade directly from one EEOL release to the next release
even though EEOL releases frequently occur in increments beyond three releases. The
current upgrade and downgrade policy for a non-EEOL release is that you can only upgrade
and downgrade by up to three releases at a time.
The +3 policy remains unchanged for
non-EEOL releases but includes a direct upgrade and downgrade path for EEOL to next
    EEOL releases.
It is important to note that you can only upgrade or downgrade to the EEOL release that
occurs directly before or after the currently installed EEOL release. For example, Junos
OS Releases 8.5, 9.3, and 10.0 are EEOL releases. You can only upgrade from Junos OS
Release 8.5 to Junos OS Release 10.0 by first upgrading to Junos OS Release 9.3. This
policy also applies to downgrades where you cannot skip an EEOL release but must
target the EEOL release occurring directly before the currently installed EEOL release.

I also found this, but i think that the article written below is based on the assumption that your device is already running certain feature sets.

Right now, the routers are essentially in a factory default mode with j-web turned on.

In case anyone was wondering, I've contacted JTAC, basically, it's kind of a fix as I would call it.

9.2 or 9.3 to 10.0, and then from there upgrade to 10.3. It's a 2 step process if you demand on using the j-web interface.

ZlatcoThanks for the posts and updates. They were a big help.

I am having the same issue on a J4350. I was able to upgrade from 9.2 to 9.3 R4.4 but the jump to 10.3 fials.. Guess I'll have to beg for a chance to download 10.0 as an upgrade path.

At this point, i've just decided that using the CLI is superior in every way. The J-WEB is a good tool for navigating if you are looking for simple diagnosis - but in my opinion it is far behind the developments that are occuring on the CLI.
