  • 1.  Using 2 accounting servers with JUNOSe simultaneously

    Hello community,

    Any chance we may make use of 2 accounting servers simultaniously with JUNOSe? 

    First would be used for typical accounting purposes and second would act as a passive monitoring device. 

    As far as I know we can do this with latest JUNOS releases. What abouth JUNOSe?

    Hi,

     

    sure, there is:

     

    1. add an additional VR(F) or use an existing one different from the one currently used for accounting

     

    2. configure a radius accounting server in that VR(F) (if not already present)

     

    3. configure "aaa accounting duplication <name of the VR(F) from steps 1./2.>"

     

    Please let us know if this works.

    P.S. I made that sound very easy. The drawback is that the VR(F) needs to have connectivity to the additional radius-server, which is not easy to achieve in all environments.

    Hello Ulf,

    I found exactly the same solution yesterday. Thanks for your help. Basically it's workaround and it might not be suitable for all environments, just as you mentioned above.
