    Hi,

I'm kinda new to JUNOS and have recently configured 2 SRX-650 to work in a cluster. However every now and then these messages keep poping up on the console:

    cksum: out of data

    Message from syslogd@ at Nov  3 17:19:11  ...
SCHED: Thread 62 (bcmCNTR.1) ran for 4262674415 ms without yielding

    Message from syslogd@ at Nov  3 17:19:11  ...
      Scheduler Oinker

    Message from syslogd@ at Nov  3 17:19:11  ...
      Frame 00: sp = 0x66449b68, pc = 0x0801db90

    Message from syslogd@ at Nov  3 17:19:11  ...
      Frame 01: sp = 0x66449c10, pc = 0x0800c134

    Message from syslogd@ at Nov  3 17:19:11  ...
      Frame 02: sp = 0x66449bb0, pc = 0xffffffff

What does these messeages mean? Should I just ignore them or is something really wrong? The only config made on these routers is the cluster config below. I'm running JUNOS 9.6R1.13.

set chassi cluster cluster-id 1 node 0 reboot (Router 1)
set chassi cluster cluster-id 1 node 1 reboot (Router 2)

    set chassis cluster redundancy-group 0 node 0 priority 200

    set chassis cluster redundancy-group 0 node 1 priority 100

    set interfaces fab0 fabric-options member-interfaces ge-0/0/2
    set interfaces fab1 fabric-options member-interfaces ge-9/0/2

    Thanks in advance!

Per chance are you seeing any coredumps which coincides when you saw those console messages? Check with "show system core-dump" command. If you see any core files then recommend opening a case with JTAC.

Also getting these messages --- This is on a SRX-240 that is not even in production yet, just doing work on configurations:

    Message from syslogd@WLS-SRX-01 at Jul 6 22:14:55 ...
    WLS-SRX-01 WLS-SRX-01 SCHED: Thread 16 (bcmCNTR.0) ran for 4262674318 ms without yielding

    Message from syslogd@WLS-SRX-01 at Jul 6 22:14:55 ...
    WLS-SRX-01 WLS-SRX-01 Scheduler Oinker

    Message from syslogd@WLS-SRX-01 at Jul 6 22:14:55 ...
    WLS-SRX-01 WLS-SRX-01 Frame 00: sp = 0x493fd408, pc = 0x0801dab8

    Message from syslogd@WLS-SRX-01 at Jul 6 22:14:55 ...
    WLS-SRX-01 WLS-SRX-01 Frame 01: sp = 0x493fd4b0, pc = 0x0800c17c

    Message from syslogd@WLS-SRX-01 at Jul 6 22:14:55 ...
    WLS-SRX-01 WLS-SRX-01 Frame 02: sp = 0x493fd440, pc = 0x09850000

There were some core dumps, but they are old. (Jun30 was last one)

    Running Junos 10.1R1.8

    Hi,

These messages can be safely ignored.

JUNOS runs on free BSD, while running threads it should release it in limited time , if it doesnot release it ends up with Scheduler Oinker messages.

Is there any way out to stop these messages from coming or stop from being generated?

    Hi,

Using event policy configuration [event-options hierarchy] you can stop the message being logged. Message will be ignored and will not logged at all. Is that what you are looking for? If so, please let me know the message you want to ignore I can let you know the configuration needed for that.

    Thanks,

    Sriram

I'd be interested in the config to ignore them

    Hi,

IMHO you should check for every occurance with JTAC that this is not an issue and/or that they are working on a fix. Then you can use http://www.juniper.net/techpubs/en_US/junos10.4/topics/task/configuration/syslog-regular-expressions-usage-log-messages-refining.html to filter out the messages that you don't want to see anymore.

    Best Regards

I am also seeing these messages.  No core dumps either.

    /kernel: cksum: out of data

/kernel: GENCFG: op 2 (Gencfg Blob) failed; err 7 (Doesn't Exist)

Nothing on the support site for this either.  Does anyone know what this indicates?

Same situation here. SRX650 chassis cluster, no core-dupms. Seen this with 10.1R1 and now with 10.0R3 also. What is this?
