hello,

I followed this guide:

but the virtual-router instance cannot ping the main instance. I tried to add a static route in master instance, pointing to next-table <instancename>.inet.0 - but didnt help.

What is this config missing?

Hello Freemind, 

Could you please post the complete configuration ?  On which device you are trying this ? if this is SRX , we need to explicitly permit ping (with host-inbound-traffic system-services ping under security zones  ) . 

If that is not the issue , we need to have route in both instances .

thank you for these hints with "rib-group". I added a rib-group to the vr-instance which copies all routes from the virtual-router to the master instance - now its working 🙂
