    Hi Situs,

when you say device server down, do you mean that you see it as a black bar in server monitor ?

    Kind regards

    Hi Situs,

ok , this is a little more complicated possibly but what you need to do is as follows.

    Edit the /var/netscreen/DevSvr/devSvr.cfg

remove the theirRSA key and ourRSAkey strings.

At the top of this file you should also see client ontime password

    Mine was  'clientOneTimePassword (dk2003nsns)'

make a note of your password located there.

Once you saved and quit move to

    /usr/netscreen/GuiSvr/utils

     #sh .xdbViewEdit.sh

When prompted elect read write mode (btw this will shut down the guiSvr)

You will be presented with a menu, from this select option 7

    enter

    0.shadow_server.1

You'll now see the RSA keys as stored in the guiSvr db.

remove both these keys the ourRSAPrivateKey and the theirRSAPublik key.

Also here check the OTP matches with the one in your devSvr.cfg file.

Once you have edit, write and quit and exit the xdbViewedit using option 12.

It should come up for you now.

    Kind regards

    Colin

    Hi Situs,

    run a ls -la

    you should see

.xdbViewEdit.sh  (remember there is a '.' before the file name so its hidden from view normally)

    Kind regards

thanks again, guess you can tell I haven't had to get on a non windows system in quite sometime, hopefully it will come back to me soon.

I've followed the procedure you outlined, but still no luck.

Guess I should explain that we recently purchased and installed (actually I didn't install the NSM, but inherited it), so not sure of the configuration / install problems), so I can't 100% guarantee a clean install.

Any ideas, that might make it easier for me.

    Hi CB,

I've gotten past my original problem by doing a reinstall of the NSM. Thanks.

I'm now trying to import a device via the Device Manager it's a NS-IDP-75, after my first attempt I received an error stating that the NSM was unable to parse a useable OS, I researched and found hits suguesting I install the latest schema, which I did (NSM2007.3r4_schema_update_server), I've restarted all services and still get the same unable to parse a useable OS ?

how can I verify I've installed the schema correctly ?

what steps should I take now.

    sorry I'm a pain

thanks again for all the previous help.
