Hi,
I have to migrate a NSM to a new server more powerful, so I want to know if I create a DB backup with the ./replicateDb command, the license will it be exported ? Is it possible to restore it with the ./restoreDbFromBackup command on the new hardware ?
I found some information on the KB
KB12220, but It's seems concerns the addition of a new license.
Thanks for your feedback,
Best regards,

Hi ,
you could either copy the most recent backup over to the new machine (on the exact same release of nsm) and run the restoreDbFromBackup script.
Or alternatively you could export the db using xdbExporter.sh , copy the resultant file over and then run xdiffImporter.
Kind regards

Hi Colin,
So you confirm that I will not loose the license setup on the old server ?

You will not lose devices from the database, but you will need to request a new license to migrate.
The install ID is based on the physical hardware platform you install nsm on, as such , the install id's won't match and the license cannot be migrated to the new platform.
You will need to contact your account manager for assistance with this.
Kind regards
