  • 1.  NSMXpress - how to remove nightly local backup

    Posted 08-22-2012 00:35
Refer to [KB21761] How to verify if the nightly local NSM backup is complete, the local backup is store under:

    /var/netscreen/dbbackup

    Navigate to /var/netscreen/dbbackup.
    [root@nsm216 ~]# cd /var/netscreen/dbbackup/
    [root@nsm216 dbbackup]# ls -la
    drwxr-x--- 3 nsm nsm 4096 Aug 29 01:08 .
    drwxr-xr-x 6 root root 4096 Aug 28 23:45 ..
    drwxr-x--- 3 nsm nsm 4096 Aug 29 01:08 backup1
    drwxr-x--- 3 nsm nsm 4096 Aug 28 01:08 backup2
    drwxr-x--- 3 nsm nsm 4096 Aug 27 01:08 backup3
    drwxr-x--- 3 nsm nsm 4096 Aug 26 01:08 backup4
    -rw-r----- 1 nsm nsm 105 Aug 29 01:08 excludeRemote.rsync
    -rw-r----- 1 nsm nsm 130 Aug 29 01:08 exclude.rsync

can I manually remove the backup directory eg: backup4, in case of diskspace full?

    Hello,

An empty file completeToken  (with date of the backup) must be present in /var/netscreen/dbbackup/backupX sub-directory.

If this file exist, you can consider backup is fully completed.

You can manually remove old backup or change retention value of number of backup to keep locally (in /usr/netscreen/HaSvr/var/haSvr.cfg file). Variable to change is: "highAvail.numOfBackups"

Restart of HaSvr daemons is not required.

    Regards,
