  • 1.  PostgreSQL version check failed (during NSM installation)

Hi all, I'm having the exact same message as the poster in this thread:

    http://forums.juniper.net/jnet/board/message?board.id=SecurityManagement&message.id=244&query.id=261101#M244

In that case it was an OS related problem (non-supported OS).

    My parameters:

    NSM version = 2007.2r2

    OS = Solaris 10

System = has an Intel CPU

I already installed the "NSM Solaris system update" which gave no error output so Postgres IS present.

When I deploy the actual installation script I get this error.

I know that Solaris 10 is supported, but does the fact that my CPU is Intel may have anything to do with this?

Does NSM only work on SPARC CPU's?

If so, can I circumvent this problem?

    thanks in advance!

    B

    Hi B,

to the best of my knowledge this will not work. You will require either solaris running on SPARC architecture or alternatively the Linux version running on intel architecture on RHES.

I did however see once someone running the intel version on RHES installed on intel SUN blades in a blade server.

Though this caused a hiccup with respect to licensing (introduced 2007.3rx onwards)  this can be resolved.

    Hope this helps

    Kind regards

    Colin

OK I'll have to use Red Hat then.

    Thanks for your reply!
