    <cpio: MD5 sum mismatch>

    It looks like it's trying to extract and install an RPM but as part of the copy it thinks the source RPM is bad. It may give a clearer error in /var/log/setup-7.0.0.164099/qradar_setup.log

    We know that everything is wrapped up in STRM2010.iso and I think the pre-tests do check the checksum on the iso file. Just in case though, after copying over STRM2010.iso to the system, do an MD5SUM on that system.

    From the Juniper Downloads it should be 9d065d89fa1cd971120fb727fa53a812

    Here's what it looks like on one of our system (the same)

    # md5sum STRM2010.0.iso
    9d065d89fa1cd971120fb727fa53a812  STRM2010.0.iso

    If that all looks good, then post here what your current version is including patch level before the upgrade, and the commands you are using to do the upgrade.

    well, i was using 2009.1 and i  did the patches installation with readme doc , and then upgraded to 2009.2 and then  patches, opened up the GUI and all was fine.

    and after that did the upgrade using winscp and copied the 2010.0.iso image to store/iso folder as per pdf document and tried to do the pre-tests after mounting but after sometime failed.

    Well, how to ensure that after download the ISO md5 checksum stays the same ? How shall i check it . I am downloading on my windows 7 machine from software downloads section of JUNIPER.NET using my support account .

    waiting for reply.

    My checksum value is different from what you have proposed, and i found it using the pctools utility of md5sums .

    let me redownload the program strm2010.0.iso again .

    regards,

    You are using the same steps I do to transfer the file - using WinSCP to get it on the box. If it's still not working for you, you could put the iso on an USB stick and mount/copy onto the system that way.
