    Dear ,

     

    what is the technical limitations or differences between STRM 500 and STRM 500 II ?

     

    I am runnning 2009.1.iso on strm 500 , and does the 1st generation box will work with 2009.2.iso or not ? Coz' i tried to do a clean install of 2010. and it failed saying some dependies issue and then reverted to 2009.1 and it is working fine, please do reply if anyone knows !!!!

    We successfully upgrade an STRM500 to STRM2010.0. There are upgrade requirements that must be met first though and are found  in the release notes and upgrade guide for STRM2010.0. They require that you be at a certain STRM release and patch level before attempting the upgrade.

     

    If you are doing a clean installation then I'd recommend following the procedure to create the recovery filesystem. You shouldn't need to meet any of the upgrade dependancies except be at least an unpatched version of STRM2009.1 (we tested this on STRM2009.1 straight to STRM2010.0). There is a script called recovery.py that is found in the software downloads section of STRM2010.0. Copy this script at and the STRM2010.0 ISO to your STRM500 and follow the script README directions (also in the software download section) to "flatten" the filesystem and create a new install of STRM2010.0. This will also set you up for a future factory re-install option of STRM2010.0 as well.

     

    STRM500II seems to be the same class of hardware but has four ethernet interfaces instead of two. There are bigger differences between the second generation and first generation STRM2500 and 5000 systems.

    well, on website i found upgrade from 2009.2 to 2010.0 , but i do not find any document which says from 2009.1 to 2010.0 ?

     

    can u letm e know if there is any such document ?

     

    or any kb for 2009.1 -> 2010.0 .

     

    i have 2010.0 iso image downloded with me already!
