Web Filtering Reports

When using SRX ( or netscreen firewall ) with Webfiltering license , will the NSM be able to provide webfiltering reports ?

What will be the contents of that report (  top visisted sites , ..........  ) ?

what are the steps to generate web filtering report ?

When you integrate NSM and SRX there is no "standard" reporting. You can bring in SRX logs into NSM. Any web filtering events will show up in the log viewer and you can write custom reports to show you the results.

#1 - enable web filtering

#2 - enable logging of SRX events into NSM (requires defining a specific syslog file and file structure)

    set system syslog file default-log-messages "value" "value" (facility and message log level)

    set system syslog file default-log-messages structured data (defines data for NSM so it can be read)

To test - setup as "any" "any" - hit a bad site (playboy or whatever) you will see log messages with a "Category" value of URL Filtering that will map to the blocked site.

From there you can define your own reports as desired.

Hope this helps! I have poked around a lot in NSM and could not find anything pre-defined so this was the approach I took.

So NSM is able to provide a 'basic' type of report, right?

Is STRM or JunosSpace able to generate these types of reports?
