    Hi,

to remove blocked hosts and or reset the password you will need to shutdown the nsm guiSvr process.

    [root@anderson ~]# cd /usr/netscreen/GuiSvr/utils/
    [root@anderson utils]# ./.hashPasswd netscreen
    glee/aW9bOYEewkD/6Ri8sHh2mU=
    [root@anderson utils]#

(replace netscreen with the password you wish to use. Copy this value.

    Next

    [root@anderson utils]# sh .xdbViewEdit.sh
Start XDB View Editor in read-only mode? [y]/n: n
XDB View Editor will be in read-write mode
    Checking GUI Server status

Once you are presented with the menu select option 6

enter 1.admin.<admin name for which you forgot password>

Locate the :password ("jasgdkjahdfouwrb=") and replace the string with your newly generated password.

    Write and quit.

    Now from the menu

    Select option 4

    enter 1.blockedIPList

Check the ID for the blocked ip.

    exit back to menu

    select option 11 and enter

1.blockedIPList.<the id you just found in the blockedIpList>

now 12 to exit and start the guiserver back up.

    Kind regards

    Colin

Hi Colin, (or anyone else who can)

Could anybody show what the contents of the complete 0.admin.super should look like?

I've got a feeling the complete user database has been deleted after running the setperms.sh script.

But I don't know the correct syntax to recreate the super user.

    Regards,

    Laurent
