Question

What should I do if I do not see device connectivity in the topology view?

Answer

To be able to see the device connectivity in the topology view, ensure that:

  1. You have enabled SNMP on the managed device.
  2. You select the SNMP option while discovering the devices.
  3. Any one of the layer 2 protocols—Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP), Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP)—is enabled on the managed device.
  4. You use the Refresh Topology task to refresh the devices that are already discovered and managed by Network Director.

You can learn more about managing the topology view in Network Director from the Network Director user documentation or online help.
