    Hi guys,

I want to test the environment of Dual-stack for IPv6 and IPv4 over PPPoE into an equipment ERX, we want to send both stack by PPPoE to customers ADSL. But I have a doubt with the licenses of b-ras, I know that for each session pppoe the license of b-ras is decremented in one value when we are using the environment IPv4 over PPPoE.

If I want to send dual stack. How many license we wil be using??. Or It is inrelevant if I used only one stack or dual stack.

    Thanks in advance,

    Best regards.

    Hi,

If the same ppp session (pppoX) is carrying both IPv4 and IPv6, then you will be using only one out of your bras license limit. This is the preferred way, i.e dual-stack over a single ppp.

If you build your setup in the other way, where the client initiates a separate ppp session for ipv6, then it will be two out of your bras limit.

    I have just deployed a dual-stack erx-310 as bras.

What version of Junos you use for b-ras, and do you have any major issues?

    thanks,
