Advertise routes learnt from IBGP peer to other IBGP peers

Hi all,

It looks like JunOS does not advertise routes learnt from IBGP peer to other IBGP peers to avoid network loop. For some reason I need to do so. I have tried to accept the routes with policy statement but it doesn't work. Please advise.

Thanks.

Re: Advertise routes learnt from IBGP peer to other IBGP peers

simply make the router a route reflector and it will forward the routes

you do this by specifying a cluster id on the internal bgp group

Re: Advertise routes learnt from IBGP peer to other IBGP peers

As Alexander said you can use RR. How is this iBGP router learning the routes. Is is from an eBGP router in the first place? However you really need RR when you have an extremely large number if iBGP speakers. iBGP requires full mesh. I suspect this is the problem. Make you iBGP peers full mesh by configuring loopback peering so the router that is learning the routes will advertise it to all other routers.
