    HiChamps,

I am observing direct and local routes in inet.3 table only on my PTX router. I just need to confirm is it right behavior or not.

test@ptx-re0# run show route table inet.3

    inet.3: 12 destinations, 13 routes (12 active, 0 holddown, 0 hidden)
    + = Active Route, - = Last Active, * = Both

    10.0.0.4/30        *[Direct/0] 4d 18:07:47
                        > via et-0/1/15.0
    10.0.0.6/32        *[Local/0] 4d 18:07:47
                          Local via et-0/1/15.0
    10.0.0.8/30        *[Direct/0] 4d 18:07:47

    Hi Nadeem,

Yes, it is expeced behaviour for PTX platform. Below URL explains the reasoning behind this:

Thanks Suria, thats the exact information what I required.

How can we stop this behvior. Is there any way to change the default inheritance behavior.

    Regards,

    Nadeem

I wouldn't advise you to do that as it will break certain application as the routes go hidden.

So just curious if you are seeing any issue with these routes being in inet.3 / inet.2?

Thanks Nadeem. Since this was carefully designed, it is not expected to affect any functionality. Hence I thought of checking you if there were any scenario where it was broken.

In case I have answered your query, please accept the post as Solution
