    Hi all,

I have a question about MPLS configuration

I have setup a simple lab for this in my MX80

    CE1---R1---R2---CE2

On R1, R2, I use ospf for the igp and advertise the lo0 to each other. iBGP for signaling and RSVP MPLS on top of it.

I manually configure the LSP and everything is fine because I just simply copy the config from Juniper KB.

However, the LSP was down after the above setup.

I found some passage and configure no-cspf under protocol mpls. After that, all connection goes up.

I am wondering why no-cspf will bring the connection up. Do I need to configure this once I manually configure the LSP? CSPF can be enabled if let the router calculate the LSP?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

for CSPF to work, you need to populated the traffic engineering database (TED). With IS-IS, traffic-enigineering extensions are enabled per default in JUNOS. However, with OSPF you have to configure "set protocols ospf traffic-engineering" to populate the TED. Alternatively you can disable CSFP like you did.

    Cheers,

    Carsten
