  • 1.  MX960 UPGRADE SCBE

    Posted 01-03-2013 13:39

I need to make an UPGRADE of MX960. I need change the SCB, and put a new SCBE. But I dont know, if I need to change the REs, the power supplies or the Fan tray.

    We have now, PWR-MX960-DC-S, RE-S-2000-4096-S and FFANTRAY-MX960-HC-S.

I think, we don´t need change the Fan tray neither the power  supply.

Any one know where I can find information about the requirements for can use this type the SCBE?

    Best regards.

RE is fine.  The part number you listed for the fan trays are the high capacity trays, so they are fine.

Pretty sure the power supplies are fine with the SCBE as well unless you are running close to capacity.  Look at "show chassis power" to see how much capacity is used.  If it were my system I would only be concerned about upgrading the power supplies for the SCBE upgrade if it was at 80% or higher capacity.

You can find information on the high capacity upgrades here:

Also, here is a page covering the steps for upgrading the SCB to a SCBE,
