Hello! There is such topology. The preferred path for routes is through interface Ge-0/0/1.

Question: When I enter command clear ospf neighbor interface ge-0/0/1 , at what time will be path through interface ge-0/0/0 preferred?

    Maybe ,outline the process, please!

The default dead time is 40 seconds, so after 40 seconds OSPF will recalcualte.  The issue with the clear command is the interface will come back up almost instantaneously.  If you want to test it properly I'd suggest you shutdown the interface.

And So, backup path will be established during 40 s.  After this primary  path will be restored.

    Hello,

There is no Dead timer involved in "clear ospf neighbor" scenario.

The router where this command is issued, will send out Hello _WITHOUT_ given neighbor and opposite router on same link will drop the adjacency with that router with reason "Not seeing self".

Then both routers will start to build adjacency from scratch - first Init, then 2-way, ExchangeStart, Exchange to Full.

    Thx
