Routing

I have a question about ospf, here it is.

Here is the diagram: R1<------------>R2

R1 and R2 used gigabit ethernet interface to connect to each other and the interconnect interface on R1 and R2 was configured under [protocol ospf]. But the ospf network type of R1's interface was changed to p2p,  when i used traceoption in R1 and outputed the log, i didn't find that R1 received any ospf hello packet from R2, why R1 droped the  packet? cause the network type changed ? when did R1 drop them ?

Please see RFC 2328 figure 11 and section A.3.2 http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2328.txt

R2 elected itself as BDR, then promoted itself to DR, set DR and BDR fields in Hello packet and sent this packet to R1.

R1 did not expect incoming Hello with DR and BDR fields other than 0.0.0.0.

On p2p links, these fields must be all zeros.
