    Hi.

I know that the vty command is used to log into an FPC/MPC. But what does the cty command do? How do I execute it? I tried 'cty fpc0 pic0' on my MX router and didn't do anything.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

It gives you the console access of FPC.

    >start shell

    cty fpc0

    Hello,

Consider vty like a telnet/ssh connection to the FPC &

vty as the console connection to the FPC.

Certain commands can not be run through vty, so cty to the FPC connection is needed.
