  • 1.  What is the maximum of router in a VRRP group?

    Hi all, 

    For example below, we have 3 routers join the same VRRP with VIP is 10.0.0.4. So In the same VRRP group, What is the maximum of routers joining?

    Hi

     

    I don't think if there's any number specified for VRRP backup routers. You can have serveral backup routers and the one with high priority or router with the heighest IP address among back routers will take over master role incase master goes down.

    Typically I've seen VRRP done with only two devices but have occasionally seen quad redundant paths where four routers participate in the same group.  So I know at least that many will work.
