    Hi Guys,

Need some help deciphering asdot notation.  The RFC 5396 states below but I am still unable to understand the math for numbers >65535.  Can someone please elabotate the process for converting from asplain 70000 to asdat and from 6.7 asdot to asplain.

    Any help would be appreciated.

       asdot
refers to a syntax scheme of representing AS number values less
than 65536 using asplain notation and representing AS number
values equal to or greater than 65536 using asdot+ notation.
Using asdot notation, an AS number of value 65526 would be
represented as the string "65526" and an AS number of value 65546
would be represented as the string "1.10"

Rather than plagerize - take at look at this site - it gives a good overview of converting - about 1/2 way down the page:
