  • 1.  Adding a XPIM to a SRX Cluster

    Hello,

     

    Wondering if you could give me some advice!

     

    We currently have a SRX550 cluster within which Node 0 has an Ethernet Switch 16-port 10/100/1000Base-T XPIM and Node 1 does not, doh!

     

    I have another PIM to add to Node 1, but my question is would there be an issue with installing the PIM whilst the cluster is up with production traffic flowing through the cluster ?

    Hello ,

     

    Since you are inserting the PIM on Node1 ( which I guess would be secondary  node ) , its recommended to power down node 1 and then insert the card and power it UP . BY this the normal production traffic will not be impacted as we are not doing anything to Node0 .  Also since the node is booted UP with new HW , it will be the best practice .

    Hello , 

     

     It is possible to have different hardware on Node 0 and Node 1 in same cluster !!!!!!!!

    Hello ,

     

    Its not recommended to have diff HW in nodes in same cluster .
